Dhadkan was released in 2000 and was a blockbuster hit.

The makers of Akshay Kumar-Shilpa Shetty film Dhadkan are planning a sequel to the romantic blockbuster.

The 2000 romantic drama, directed by Dharmesh Darshan dealt with the love triangle between Akshay, Shilpa and Suniel Shetty. The film was produced by Ratan Jain of Venus.

"A lot of people have been constantly asking me about our plans of making Dhadkan 2. I am happy to announce that we plan to go on-floors this year. The essence of the film will remain same however, the new age sensibilities will be kept in mind," Ratan Jain said in a statement here.

The makers are looking to release the film sometime next year.

"I feel humbled and honoured. To follow-up what is considered a classic is challenging," Darshan said.

Akshay Kumar thanks wife Twinkle Khanna for success

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna got married in 2001.

Actor Akshay Kumar, who feels that everyday should be celebrated as Mother's Day, gives credit to wife Twinkle Khanna for his success and well-being of the family.

On the occasion of Mother's Day, Akshay gets candid and showers Twinkle with praises.

"I want to tell her that the success of our family has always lain in her hands. It was never my success as a man, or as anything else for that matter. It is because Tina (Twinkle) has dedicated the last decade of her life to the best thing in both our lives, our children," Akshay said in a statement.

"She lives every minute of her life for them, while I only work every minute I'm not with them," added the actor known for hits like Namaste London and Special 26.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2001, have two children - son Aarav, 10, and over seven-month-old daughter Nitara.

Before tying the knot, Twinkle acted in Bollywood movies like Barsaat, Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai, Baadshah and Jodi No 1. She was last seen in 2001 movie Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega.

Akshay, 45, feels that mothers should be pampered around the year and not just on a particular day.

"My part is very easy. I take everyone out for dinner and pick up the bill. But I truly feel that the best thing anyone can do is to treat them (mothers) like it's Mother's Day every day. That's just it. Moms don't stop being amazing for even a day, so why should we stop being grateful? Happy Mother's Day for life, mom," he said.

The actor will soon be seen playing a gangster in director Milan Luthria's Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2.

For Akshay Kumar, charity begins at home with son Aarav

Akshay Kumar's son Aarav regularly visits charitable institutions

Akshay Kumar's son Aarav is just 11, but he is into charity work and inspires his actor father to indulge in such activities.

Apparently, Aarav regularly visits charitable institutions and donates clothes and toys to underprivileged children.

"Every now and then, both father and son clean up their cupboards. Aarav gathers all the stuff that they don't need and heads to an orphanage in Andheri to donate all the things," says a source close to Akshay.

The source also adds that "apart from that, Aarav often takes toys and clothes and goes with his driver to distribute them among street kids".

And every time Aarav hears of some social cause, he nudges Akshay to contribute.

"Once he heard about an initiative to educate poor children. He asked Akshay to find out more about it and make a contribution to fund the kids' education," the source added.

The youngster is eco-conscious and tells everyone to plant trees and not to litter streets and public spaces.

"When a news channel started an initiative to save the environment, Aarav coaxed his father into supporting it," said the source.
